AgoraDesk is what remained after LocalBitcoins shut down, one of the oldest and most widely used P2P exchanges to ever exist.
A few hours ago, I came across this notice while using my phone to close a pending trade:
AgoraDesk is shutting down
The winding-down process begins on May 7, 2024, and ends on November 7, 2024. Our support staff will be available to assist you during this period.
1. Effective immediately, all new registrations and ad postings will be disabled;
2. On May 14, 2024, new trades will also be disabled;
3. On November 7, 2024, the website will close. Please withdraw funds from your arbitrage bond wallet before that date, otherwise, the funds may be considered abandoned/forfeited.
The only real chance we have for something to be truly P2P is through open-source, anonymous software that is free from institutions or authorities.
