Hey everyone!
Here you can provide your general feedback on the forum, and also see the WIP (work in progress) since some things are still in the lab.
We have a sidebar
On both desktop and mobile ![]()
You must click the button at the top right, next to our logo, or find the same button on your phone wherever it appears.
That bar allows us to separate the forum from our profile:
And from that space, you can receive notifications for replies, likes, chats, groups, etc.
The sidebar will eventually allow you to choose the order of things, and I hope the “see more” button disappears:
(the “See more” button is a trick, like in the old Sega games)
Habemus dark mode
Which we should use at night and without lights around, to prevent the lighting contrast from hurting our eyes.
The dark mode has some irregularities, but it will be fully operational soon.
We are receiving blog comments
But it is likely that we won’t see too many until we improve the interface and I finish the posts with the same style ![]()
For now, it is functional and operational.
We have incorporated a translator
It is in testing for now, but it will connect directly with the DeepL API, which, after we discussed it here in the community, proved to be the best translator in the world.
Its quality is excellent and the systems run super well on our blog and this forum, so we are close to opening ourselves up to the world ![]()
That system costs money; the API usage will add to the operational cost of Criptonautas, but by reducing everything to open-source, I think I can continue to cover it.
We organized the channels
(formerly “categories”)
And we are still working on this, but you should already notice everything much more organized.
From the sidebar you will find some channels, but you can also change the list in which you view the forum:
And see the general structure, with the featured stories (formerly “messages”).
We have an integrated chat
And to enter, you just have to choose the channels from the bar or the button that shows the chats you are currently participating in.
Work in Progress
- CSS stylesheets; some things will look bigger than others, and some smaller. Everything is more comfortable from a tablet or PC.
- Having all reactions count as likes for our engagement levels, because for now only likes work (they are working on it, and I suggested a very viable solution)
- Analyze an AI bot that completes, searches, and returns results from our forum.
Why Discourse
Because it is software that allows us infinite possibilities, both in information and in the platform itself.
Since it has existed, it has done nothing but improve and incorporate what really needs to be incorporated. We don’t want a thousand bots and colors, but rather facilities to continue developing what we do.
I worked a lot on this, but so did the Discourse team, so if you’re thinking of donating, maybe one day you can also contribute to its development.
Criptonauta Feedback
Explain in detail what we could modify, how we could do it, and why that would be useful for the rest of the community.
Add screenshots, record a short video, use emojis, and describe everything in a friendly or fun way.
Keep it cool
