AI video generation tools are starting to be widely used in the entertainment industry, much to the chagrin and despair of those expendable human professionals.
Netflix is currently using the New York-based startup’s tools for content production, according to a person familiar with the matter, who asked not to be identified so they could discuss private conversations. Netflix declined to comment.
Meanwhile, Walt Disney Co. has been testing Runway’s technology and has spoken with the startup about potential uses of its generative AI tools, according to the same source. A Disney spokesperson stated that the company has no plans to integrate Runway’s software into its content production process at this time. Runway declined to comment.
